The Spiders Interactive Reader is a fun book to learn about spiders and is perfect for October! The book is in the shape of an octagon. Students will need to complete certain parts of the book as they read (i.e. color, draw, write, etc.).
Page 1:
Spiders have [eight] legs.
-Students will color the spider, count the legs, and write the number
eight
Page 2:
Spiders have [two] body parts.
-Students will color the spider, count the body parts, and write the number of body parts (body part names are noted)
Page 3:
Spiders are arachnids. They are not insects.
-Students will cut out the words “insect” and “arachnid” and glue them in the appropriate place, then they will color the pictures
Page 4:
Some spiders spin silk [webs].
-Students will fill in the last word of the sentence and draw a spider on the web
Page 5:
Spiders eat insects.
-Students will draw two insects on their paper
When students have completed their book, they will cut out the pages and you will staple them together.
