This fun Blends activity is perfect for your spring literacy center! It can also be used in a for independent seatwork to practice or review blends.

There are 18 full color blend mats and four flower picture pieces for each mat. Blends included:

bl, cl, fl, gl, pl, sl, br, cr, dr, fr, gr, pr, tr, sk, sn, sp, st, and sw

It is suggested that all pages be copy on card stock. After cutting blend flower pictures out, laminate all pieces along with mats for increased durability and longevity of this resource.

Each mat has a gardening bear with a blend on it. Students find the flowers pictures that match each blend sound and place on the mat.

Depending on the level of your students and what your instructional focus is you will probably want to separate these into three sets for skill practice; mixing sets works well for review and assessment.

Recording sheets have been provided for each blend and combined blends (you may need to copy front to back or more than one sheet depending on how many mats you are using at one time). An answer key is also included.
