Christmas Persuasive Writing – Students pretend to run a travel agency offering a trip to the North Pole. Students must create an advertising brochure or poster for their travel agency outlining the details of this once-in-a-lifetime travel opportunity. A great way to practice persuasive writing and using persuasive language.

Includes

  • teacher directions/extension ideas
  • detailed assignment sheet
  • planning page
  • persuasive writing tip sheet
  • brainstorming sheet
  • two pages of writing paper (lined / unlined)
  • marking rubric (great for peer/self-assessment)

Students have always enjoyed this activity, and I look forward to seeing their work. A nice winter holiday / Christmas-themed assignment.

Hello fellow educator! Although it's been over six years since I bought this resource but I'd like to take a moment and thank you for making it. Prior to the pandemic, I taught an ESE self-contained 5th grade class. They were a great bunch of kiddos but they were a very low performing class. I worked endlessly coming up with games, projects, graphic organizers and just a plethora of material to help close this class' learning gap. By the end of each day I was drained and still had to help my three daughters with their school work. Your resource was one of the many resources that helped me get through a very challenging year. Even though this review comes in late please know that I'm forever thankful. Have a great 2020- 2023 school year!

Using the basic factual information provided in this product as well as extending the research options via kid-friendly geography sites, this activity provided high-interest informational writing for my sixth-grade students.
