Giving compliments to your students is a great way to encourage positive behavior in your classroom. This editable baseball themed compliment activity will have students on the ball and eager to catch your words of praise!
Benefits of using this resource:
Teacher praise is an effective management strategy for increasing positive choices in the classroom. It can encourage and motivates students to keep doing their best. It can contribute to improved academic and behavioral performance.
What’s included and how to use:
In this zipped file you will find two folders. One with posters, letters, some pre-made compliment baseballs and blank pieces for those of you that prefer to hand write or label names on gloves or compliments on balls. In the second file, for your convenience, you will find editable balls and gloves that can be type on.
This compliment activity can be displayed in a pocket chart or on a bulletin board. If using a pocket chart, put the name of each student on a baseball glove. Place a glove for each student in the pocket chart. Add an appropriate compliment baseball to the student pockets throughout the week. You can use baseballs as is, but if you cut them out, you will see part of the glove; so it looks like the ball has been caught.
There are two choices of “Catching Compliments” posters that can be used for your display. If using a pocket chart you may want to write the title on a sentence strip and place at the top. If using a bulletin board you may like to use the baseball letters included that spell out the title.
