Halloween, Phonics, Spelling

These spider themed ending sounds cards can be utilized in many ways to practice ending sound recognition while working with CVC words. This is a skill that students need to work on repeatedly to master and gain fluency in reading. The fun spider theme makes it a perfect resource to use around Halloween.

What is included with this resource?

  • Task Cards – place cards in a basket or on a ring and have students work through the cards with a small group or independently
  • Write the Room – place cards around the room and have students find the cards to record their answers
  • Sensory Bin – add the cards to your fall or Halloween themed sensory bin and have students search for the cards that match their recording sheet

My students enjoy working on this activity during stations. I like the pictures because students are able to know what is on the card.
