Do your students need more sequencing practice? These fairy tale and fable puzzles are fun for working on beginning, middle, and end. They can be used for practicing retelling once they’ve been put together and also used to help plan written retelling.
In this resource you will find:
– 12 puzzles with both colored and line art graphics
– Sequencing writing planning page
– Two bordered, partially lined pages for story writing
– Puzzle template page
Writing Ideas:
– Have children choose a puzzle, draw the pictures in the correct order, and then write sentences to explain what is happening in the picture.
– Instruct students to write a beginning, middle, and end. You could also use first, next, and then or finally.
– Students create their own sequencing pictures and story.
– Children draw pictures from a puzzle set and then write about what would happen next if another picture was added to the sequence.
