Creatively ComprehensiveLooking for a resource that covers CCSS anchor standard Integration of Knowledge and Ideas? This Learning Stations activity is just what you need! Your students will rotate through 6 stations, each including thought-provoking questions about how illustrations and layout can aid in the comprehension of a text, in addition to questions about comparing and contrasting paired passages.

This activity comes with print and digital versions and can be used with any literature text selections (PLEASE NOTE: questions pertaining to RL 5.9 will require two texts to compare). It can be easily differentiated– you can decide which questions you want your students to answer, and they can either discuss or write their responses. Although the Learning Stations were designed to be used as a group activity, you can easily transition the content into partner or independent work!

The stations include a variety of DOK (Depth of Knowledge) questions. You can easily adapt this activity to meet the needs of your students throughout the year- for example, you may start with students answering only one question verbally within their group and then progress to students providing written responses to all the station.
This resource is incredibly versatile- you can use either the digital or print options as they are, or combine elements of both to help your students be successful as they navigate through the stations.
