How Does It Work?
There are a lot of skills packed into one page!
- Students use letter sound knowledge to decode the sentences by identifying the first letter sound of each picture.
- Students write the decoded letters to reveal a sentence with blends.
- Students print the sentence neatly on the lines.
- Students use the checklist to self-edit their sentence.
- Students draw a matching picture to demonstrate comprehension.
- Students read the sentence to a friend for peer-editing, and write the friend’s name on the line for accountability.
