Need more practice simplifying fractions? Print and laminate the 35 included Bingo cards and then project all different kinds of fraction pictures. Some show
parts of a whole and others show parts of a group. Students will find the fraction on the projection, simplify it, and then cover it on their Bingo cards.
My students beg to play, and while playing they’ll identify and simplify more fractions in this simple game than they would on any worksheet. After playing Simplifying Fractions Bingo once, a few days later we reviewed again by racing to find answers. Both ways are a great review of simplifying fractions!
After reviewing simplifying fractions using the Bingo game, assign the Easel Assessment as a formative assessment to evaluate your students’ simplifying skills!
