Looking for an engaging poetry project to wrap up a poetry unit? This poster project has students create a poster (paper or digital) based on their definition of poetry, poetry they enjoy and their own examples of figurative language. Students can theme their poster around a big idea and really demonstrate their understanding of poetry and figurative language.

Includes two versions for easy differentiation of the assignment sheet and the brainstorming worksheet. Also includes a figurative language reference sheet and a blank one to add additional terms as well as a grading rubric.

As an extra challenge I ask older students or those who need enrichment, to create their poster around a specific theme.
