If you are teaching about past and present and comparing how things have changed over time, this Long Ago and Today Write the Room is a great introductory activity which incorporates movement for your students.
What makes this a beneficial activity?
Write the Room allows introduction and practice of connected vocabulary. This Long Ago and Today set reinforces the terms past and present and gives them the opportunity to practice recognizing differences between them. The recording sheets also provide handwriting practice.
Is there a way to differentiate the activity?
There are two different recording sheets provided. One focuses on the writing of vocabulary but students to also determine if it would likely be from the past or present. The other focuses on the categorizing of past or present while writing vocabulary.
Do you offer a black and white version?
Yes, you can choose to print the 16 cards in color or line art. The recording sheets are in black and white only.
This is a great activity but I need more. Do you have any other related resources?
Yes, if you go to Long Ago and Today Past and Present Activities and Worksheets you will find a detailed description with lots of fun ways your students can learn about this topic.
