This set is a fun twist on Interactive Notebooks!

Students create a flower booklet whose petals practice one word family each (so 5 families per flower).

These can be glued into notebooks for practice at school, or sent home for reinforcement with parents! They also make a colorful bulletin board display as well! The templates are black and white, so students can make their flowers any color they choose.

This set practices 70 different word families, organized by complexity, and includes 350 different words!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

There are two different options for use, depending on student ability.

Option 1: Students glue blank flowers under the cover flower. They write their own word families under each petal, using your reference lists as needed.

Option 2: Students glue the word circles in the correct place for each flower, then glue all the flowers together to make a booklet. (This format is a bit more challenging as students need to ensure their petals line up for each word family.)

There are blank circles to make any word circles should they misplace them.

Option 3: Use the templates to make a flower for each spelling pattern. Each flower has a cover where students glue the words on each petal, and another blank flower glued underneath for students to illustrate the word on the petal above it. Flower included are: short vowel words, blends, digraphs and r-controlled vowels.

If you are using this as year-long home practice, complete one flower together so parents know how the final product should look. Parents and students LOVE this kind of home practice!
