Providing opportunities for students to recognize and produce rhyming words helps kids improve oral language skills. Rhyming activities allow students to practice phonemic awareness in a fun way that helps them become better readers.
This resource can be used as a Write the Room or an independent literacy center. It includes 24 picture cards (in both color and line art) which promote reading and rhyming practice. Students read each sentence and choose the missing rhyming word from the two choices provided. Then they write their answer on the recording sheet provided.
Your students may also enjoy practicing with rhyming clip cards and rhyming puzzles.
