Sequencing is an important strategy for students in reading and writing. The ability to tell or retell events in a specific order contributes to comprehension. These sequencing resources can be used on their own or as a follow-up activity to a story you have read.
What is the topic for this set of sequencing worksheets?
The skill for this free set of worksheets is hand washing – an important skill for all students!
What is included for each topic?
Each topic comes with:
- guiding picture cards (numbered and un-numbered)
- four-step cut and paste worksheet (simple lines and handwriting lines)
- five-step cut and paste worksheet (simple lines and handwriting lines)
How can I utilize the guiding picture cards?
The picture cards can be used as a poster to guide students or you can cut apart the cards for students to sequence.
What are students required to do on the worksheets?
The sequencing worksheets require the students to cut and paste four or five pictures in the correct order.
After they complete that step, there are lines for them to write their how-to. There is a small word bank included on every page with vocabulary that may be useful in their writing.
You will find a blank-lined writing paper for both line styles. You can run these on the back of the cut and paste worksheet or provide them separately for students that may need more room for their writing.
I enjoyed using this. Do you have any more like it?
Yes! I have a set of 50 sequencing activities just like this. You can find those here.
